I am CHIA-YUN KUO(Frances).
Growing up in a beautiful harbor city, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, I moved to San Francisco studying fashion design at the Academy of Art University in 2016, and I am focusing on menswear.
Conceptually, my moods pervade my works. Most of my design works inspired by my homeland, families, and the natural scenery. In my 27 years of life, I grew up with my little brother, we share the same interest but also accommodate the difference. Both of us were on the school sports team when we were young, and the experience led us to fall in love with outdoor activities, and mountain climbing.
As preservationist John Muir once said, "The mountains are calling, and I must go." The road to the top of the mountain is always hard than you think, but it is worth when you eventually reach the top.
"Never give up halfway" becomes my faith, the motto changes my life, and I stick to what it meant to me. I have an innate curiosity for exploring, challenging and pushing myself to make the impossible possible. Though the path might be tough, I will stand by what I love.
"Only those who are willing to go further can they have the greatest view."
